ALEX DINWIDDIE - ARTISTIC ADMINISTRATOR

Alexandra Dinwiddie grew up in London, where she received her first introduction to the Roald Dahl Music Commissions at the age of 14 as a member of the children's chorus for the premiere of Vladimir Tarnopolski's Cinderella with the London Schools' Symphony Orchestra. Two years later, she joined the LSSO herself as a cellist, playing under the baton of Peter Ash. Alex went on to read Music at the University of Bristol, followed by postgraduate vocal studies at Morley Opera School in London and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, where she completed her Masters in Vocal Performance in 2018.

Between degrees, Alex worked in administrative roles in property, tech and insurance, and eventually as Parliamentary Assistant to a minister in the House of Commons. She now has a career as a freelance mezzo-soprano living and working in London, alongside her roles as Artistic Administrator of Music Link International and PA to the composer Eleanor Alberga and her husband, the violinist Thomas Bowes.
